Protein bioaccessibility improvement and increased amino acid concentration with P24
Third-party research demonstrates how P24 improves bioaccessibility of protein across animal-based and plant-based sources.

At Amplifye, we believe optimal nutrition begins with making food work better for the body. That’s why we partnered with Biorbis, a leading third-party biotech lab, to rigorously evaluate the effect of our protein enzyme, P24, on protein digestion and amino acid bioaccessibility.
Study Objectives
Here’s what we set out to do:
-
Measure the increase in protein bioaccessibility and how effectively the body can break down and use proteins, across 19 sources (including animal, dairy, and plant-based proteins).
-
Determine which amino acids increased with the application of P24 and understand the associated benefits for human health.
Methodology
To do this, researchers applied validated methods including the TNBS assay to measure hydrolysis degree (DH%) and HPLC with fluorescence detection to quantify amino acid concentration in milligrams per gram of protein. This was accomplished with the INFOGEST Model 2.0, an industry-standard methodology that simulates stomach digestion.
Key Terminology
-
Bioaccessibility: The extent to which proteins can be absorbed in the digestive tract.
-
Amino Acids: The building blocks of protein. Essential amino acids are only found in food and are vital for human health.
-
Amino Acid Profile: The spectrum and concentration of amino acids within a protein source.
-
Hydrolysis Degree (DH%): A measure of protein breakdown, indicating how many small peptides and amino acids were released during digestion.
How does bioaccessibility support human health?
Most people are surprised to learn that our bodies don't absorb all the protein we eat, leaving important nutrients behind. This is where bioaccessibility matters — improving it can significantly enhance how efficiently we use the nutrients we consume.
By increasing protein bioaccessibility and amino acid concentration starting in the stomach, P24 may support:
Digestive Comfort
As P24 kick-starts the digestive process, it’s easier for your body to break down proteins. This means less digestive strain, a healthy microbial balance, and enhanced gut lining integrity.
Muscle Recovery
Any athlete knows protein is essential for muscle growth and recovery, but how? Protein stimulates muscle protein synthesis, reduces muscle breakdown, and replenishes amino acid stores.
Deeper Sleep
Through delivering the amino acid tryptophan — a precursor to melatonin — protein supports deeper, more restful sleep. It also stabilizes blood sugar, aids muscle repair, and regulates stress hormones like cortisol.
Sustained Energy
If you’re looking for all-day energy (without that afternoon slump), protein may be your answer. Protein stabilizes blood sugar while increasing satiety and enhancing mitochondrial function — keeping you going from the cellular level.

Plant-Based Proteins
Plant proteins are generally harder for our bodies to digest compared to animal proteins due to their complex structure and the presence of natural compounds that inhibit digestion. Many plant-based proteins are encased in fibrous cell walls that our digestive enzymes struggle to break down. This reduced digestibility means the body may not absorb all the amino acids as efficiently as it does from animal sources — and why P24 offers so much potential to the plant-based eater.
With P24, these complex plant proteins are more easily digested and our body can access a higher concentration of key amino acids.
